As per terms of the mutual affection between the 2 governments the approach roads were to be created by the Bangla Desh Government. However, the most bridge was completed in June 1989. Recently the bridge has been named as monarch Amanat Bridge. The location of the most bridge is concerning 700m upstream of Iqbal steps, about 1.5 klick upstream of Sadarghat and concerning seven klick downstream of Kalurghat Railway Bridge, Chittagong. The roadway is 7m wide and is 2 laned. The dimension of the pavement from Bahaddarhat to Fakirer Tek is seven.3m and between Patiya and Anwara road portion is five.48 m. The crest dimension of road from Bahaddarhat to Fakirer Tek is twelve.2m and between Patiya and Anwara is nine.75m. On detection of crack on the surface planks of the bridge the plying of significant vehicles was created restricted from 2000. The bridge is currently operative. The construction of the third Karnafuli Bridge began in August 2006 underneath the joint support of the govt of Bangla Desh and of Kuwait.
